Marley Dias is a 16 year old activist and author! She created the #1000BlackGirlBooks movement.


Quick Facts about Marley Dias


- She founded the #1000BlackGirlBooks movement in 2015 as a book drive. Her initial goal was to collect 1000 books that featured black female protagonists and then donate them to other students.

- To date, she has collected 13,000 books!

- She also wrote her own book, Marley Dias Gets It Done: And So Can You, which was chosen as the 2021 Ambassador of National Educational Association (NEA) Read Across America book.

- She has spoken at summits around the world, including at the White House, has won numerous awards, and is one of the youngest people to be featured on Forbes 30 under 30.
